My Mom's battle with Peripheral Neuropathy
Hi everyone,
My hope and prayer with this is the let everyone know of my Mom's struggle with Peripheral Neuropathy. She says it started pretty meagerly in about 1978 or so. Its hard to get the complete story since its been so long. Memories tend to fade, even for me, after so long. She is 75 now. She has seen countless doctors and specialists but not a single one has been able to really offer any help much less a cure for this.
She says it started as dryness around the edges of her feet some 30 years ago. Another interesting part to me in this is that her daughter in law now seems to be getting this as well. She says its in the early stages, but what are the odds of an unrelated, by blood, person to my mom also getting the disease?
Questions in my mind pop up like these.
Is it possible that my brother is a carrier for the decease?
Is it possible that it was passed to my brothers wife through my brother?
Is it possible it was passed to her by sexual contact?
If that is to, why has not myself or my other brother past on the disease?
Anyway, back to my mom.
I dont know how many doctors my mom has been to, but I do know that there have been a lot. One of her doctors even applied her to the Mayo clinic, but they turned her down. Im not sure why.
I think she has even seen some non-traditional doctors, but I dont have a list right now. I will try to get this from her. If I can get a list, I will post it on here.
